For an application to be
considered, the following requirements must
be met:
(1) A completed application:

(2) Transcripts showing
senior status within one term of completion
of a bachelor's degree. Student must provide
transcript showing degree completion by the
time of matriculation in May.
(3) 10 prerequisite
courses, 5 of which must be completed prior
to application:

(with labs) |
| 2 semesters of general physics
(with labs.) (Note: courses need
not be calculus based) |

Life sciences sequence including
ONE of the following combinations:
full academic year of general
biology (with labs) AND an advanced
course in biology (not botany
or ecology)
full academic year of anatomy
and physiology (with labs) AND
either ONE general biology course
(not botany or ecology or environmental
biology) OR ONE applied health
science that has anatomy &
physiology as a prerequisite
(e.g., exercise physiology,
kinesiology)

| At least 2 courses
in the social sciences. (General
and abnormal psychology or human
growth and development are strongly
recommended.) |

Note: At
least 1 of the 3 forms should be completed
by a physical therapist. The references should
address your abilities or potential as a healthcare
professional. They should NOT come from a friend,
spouse, relative or spiritual advisor. Instruct
each reference to place the completed form
in an envelope, seal the envelope, sign their
name across the seal and return to you so that
it may be mailed with your other application
materials.
(5) A $30.00 non-refundable
application fee. Your check should
be made out to Armstrong Atlantic State University.
(Fee is required of all applicants, including
those already attending AASU.)
(6) 2 official transcripts
from each institution attended.
No personal or faxed copies will be accepted.
Colleges or universities that refuse to released
sealed transcripts to students may mail them
directly to the Department of Physical Therapy,
however the transcripts must be received prior
to the application deadline. If prerequisites
are being taken during the fall terms, a second
pair of official transcripts should be mailed
as soon as the grades have been recorded.
(7) Official GRE scores.
Only official reports from the Educational
Testing Service will be accepted. These should
be sent directly to AASU and must arrive before
the application deadline. The GRE code for
AASU is R5012, and the code for Physical Therapy
is 0619. The Department of Physical Therapy
must receive GRE scores reflecting these minimum
standards PRIOR to the application deadline.
Computer scores are generally reported to schools
two weeks after the test is taken. A minimum
of 400 must be achieved on both the verbal
and quantitative sections, and the combined
best score of these sections must be at least
900.
